Porsche 953 Dakar

The Porsche 953 is known as one of the most iconic rally cars in motorsport history. Born from a desire to dominate the toughest rallies, including the legendary Paris-Dakar, this all-wheel-drive Porsche was designed specifically for extreme conditions. Not only do we offer you a glimpse into this rich history, we’ve also had the honor of building an exact replica of the 1984 winning model. Read on to find out how we brought this classic off-road Porsche back to life and how it pushed the boundaries on an epic journey across Japan.

Anyone who longs for a Porsche 953 can come to us. In 1984, Porsche decided to build a real all-wheel-drive rally car. Extremely suitable for the desert, and that proved to be the case! The Paris-Dakar of 1984 was a great success for the Porsche 953; no less than three of these cars participated and achieved first place! All three Porsche 953s completed the Dakar.

Last year, we built an exact replica of the winning model on behalf of a customer: a real Porsche 953 4×4. All-wheel drive, high on its legs and of course equipped with the Rothmans livery. This had been the big wish for quite some time: not a jeep or a large SUV, but a Porsche that could do the same job. And we succeeded. With its all-wheel drive and off-road tires, no climb is too crazy. It is a different sport, a different piece of technology. What a great project to work on, and we are proud of the result! Immediately after delivery to the customer, he had to prepare for his first challenge. Not just any challenge, but through the narrow and rough mountain passes and over the highways and beaches of Japan. And with success! No less than 11,000 carefree kilometers were covered.

"In the beginning I looked around and, not finding the automobile of my dreams, decided to build it myself."

~ Ferdinand Porsche
