“Porsche is taking a new path! More comfort and yet sporty, also called a Grand Tourer (GT). All this to keep long distances enjoyable.”

Before that, the 928 came onto the market, a replacement for the Porsche 911. A completely new concept, even the engine is no longer in the back, but in the front. And the block was water-cooled for the first time.

Well, as everyone knows, the 928 did not become the replacement for the 911. Because it remained (fortunately) in production. The Porsche 928 was in production from 1977 to 1995, this resulted in no less than 61,000 copies.

Appearance & Performance

When we talk about the appearance of a 928, there is plenty to talk about! This car hides so many beautiful details! First of all, something iconic from that time, the pop-up headlights, fantastic! But there is really much more: If you look at the front, you see sharp angles and a sporty appearance. If you look at the back of the car, you see curves and a lot of glass, actually a completely different image. To emphasize the sportiness, look how low this Porsche is! Inside the car we see very comfortable seats with seat heating. Fun fact: when you adjust your steering wheel, your display moves with it!

The engine of a 928 is also different from the 911. The engine block is located at the front of the car, and is not a 6-cylinder but a V8! The gearbox is located on the rear axle. This ensures that this Porsche also has a perfect weight balance. That is something that Porsche is good at. The Porsche 928 is the first water-cooled Porsche. The block of the 928 is indestructible. In addition, the 928s are all galvanized, which has ensured that so many are still in top condition.

This copy is a 928 4.7 S from 1986 with 300hp. The car has been stored indoors under canvas for years. And has been taken out of the shed for fun rides. The car has been in the possession of the previous owner for 19 years.
