Popko Wagenaar at Lammertink Specialized in Porsche

Popko is a dynamic entrepreneur. With his accountancy background, Popko is also working hard on a start-up: BeerFridge.nl. A system that ensures that every beer is automatically pushed forward in the refrigerator. A brilliant concept that has become a hype in the Dutch HORECA.

The story

Popko had been thinking about buying a unique Porsche for a long time. After a lot of research and detective work, he came across this example in San Francisco. This 911 E had already been restored in terms of bodywork and chassis. Popko was advised to leave the further restoration and finishing of the car to Edwin Lammertink’s team.

After a number of conversations, a restoration plan was drawn up and Edwin got to work. Popko had expressed the wish to return everything to its original state. This 911 had a number of unique and original features that Popko wanted to preserve, such as the electric sliding roof and the Fuchs ‘Early Deep Dishes Six’ wheels. Both were unique for that time. Other special features include the original Porsche Weltmeister sticker on the side window and the Recaro sports seats.

The restoration process of this 911 E took about 5 months and it was more than worth it! Popko himself puts it this way:

“Starting the 911, the unmistakable Porsche clocks in the dashboard and checking the oil level and oil pressure. That close connection with technology makes me feel privileged every time I drive because I am allowed to own a unique 911. The matching numbers ‘Elfer’ has been tickled to over 190 HP using the original S-specs from Porsche. Of course, you will also find the personal touch and racing DNA of Edwin Lammertink in it.

My children find it funny that the radio, the old Becker, only has an AM option. They don’t even know what it is. My wife is also happy with this unique Porsche. Every now and then we go for a nice tour to the coast. We really enjoy it together and it is quite an event.

I think my experience with Edwin Lammertink and the entire team is very special. The knowledge they have in-house is unique. I can always drop by or call if I have a question. I also regularly came by during the restoration process to see what steps had been taken and what progress had been made.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the entire team always does its utmost. And they don’t even try. It seems to happen all by itself.”
