Frank Maarsingh

At the kitchen table in his cozy house in Lichtenvoorde, Frank talks passionately about his great love. Porsche. From a young age, Frank had the dream of one day buying a Porsche 911. He had exactly in mind which model and he also knew the color: Diamond Viper Green.

The story

He once shared that dream with Edwin Lammertink during an event. Edwin never forgot that because one day Frank got a phone call from Edwin. ‘Hey Frank, the color is not quite what you are looking for but the model is exactly according to your boyhood dream, a 911 S. This car had the color burgundy red.

The 911 S was located in America and after some phone calls and e-mail correspondence with the owner, the 911 was shipped to the Netherlands. When the car arrived in Enter, Frank and Edwin immediately got under the skin of the car for a quick introduction to this 911 S. To their great surprise they saw that the original color was not ‘burgundy red’, but green! And indeed.. Diamond Viper Green. A boyhood dream was complete.

The 911 S was going to get a complete overhaul. First the car was stripped, taken to the sheet metal worker, the bodywork was straightened, the engine completely overhauled, the chassis was treated and the interior went back to original. In addition, the brake pads were modified with the original (new) Porsche Classic parts from 1976, the steering rod of a Turbo was mounted and Edwin gave it his famous signature: A ‘slightly different exhaust’.

The entire restoration was done very thoroughly according to Frank and Edwin. We wanted to return to the originality and have the space to add some special modifications with original and period correct parts. In addition to this 911 S, Frank also owns a 997 Carrera S. You will also find the classic and original past of Porsche in that 911. Frank himself says:

“Edwin tackles his restorations very thoroughly. If you care about authenticity, Edwin and his team are able to carry out these types of projects very well, down to the smallest detail. The contact is friendly, I can drop by for an update and a cup of coffee and if I have any questions, everyone takes the time to answer them. A complete restoration is quite a big project and I am happy with this end result”.
